Last Wednesday was the first big summer event at Britt Oval, with over 150 people in attendance. We made kites and wacky hats, flew weather balloons, and celebrated the special space with our friends from the Boys and Girls Club of Cleveland, Saint Luke's Foundation, Cleveland Neighborhood Progress, and Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative. Everyone came together and brought something exciting and different to share at this celebration. What kind of celebration would be complete without snacks to share? The Cleveland Police Department and Fourth District Police broke out the grill and served up hot dogs and popsicles, all while meeting new people and creating new connections within the community. While two talented face paint artists turned kids into superheroes and butterflies, giant puppets danced to the steel drum band. Some young dancers even joined in! I think it's safe to say that Britt Oval has officially "woken up" for the summer. This amazing space is yours to enjoy, so make the most of it! Also, if you think this sounds like fun, you do NOT want to miss Splash at Britt Oval on August 8th. We can't wait to see you there!
