This week marked the kick-off of CPT's Student Theatre Enrichment Program, with performances at Herman Park and Lincoln Park (above). These kids work hard all summer long to pen an original work of theater, and work with coaches to learn the movement, voice, acting, and technical theater skills to put a production together in just 8 short weeks. This year's production, Now the City Dreams, was an artful reinterpretation of the Shakespeare summertime work of choice, and this midsummer night's dream had all the humor, love, lust, craziness and ass-sets of the original. Actors wait in chairs lined up backstage for their chance to go on . . . And explode with energy once they're there!

This week at Zone Rec, Upcycle Parts Shop met us with a huge array of recycled supplies, and a crafting free-for all ensued! There was good ol' fashioned drawing . . . And funny hats hats were certainly in vogue . . . And one skateboarder even came up with a creative way to deliver a dirve-by "Hi!" With the breeze at their backs and flames at their heels (at least before the kickflips wore them down) these kids were a crafting whirlwind, and even lent each other a helping hand -- or snip!
What it is, well, we hope to make clear . . . We've got kids taking shots over there If you're not into movies, you ought to beware!! Stop, children, what's that sound, Everybody look what's going down There's a dude in a dress over there and his friends who are filming, they don't seem to care! . . . What a field day for the kids!
